The pros:  Trader Joe's This Apple Walks Into a Bar is tasty, organic, low fat, affordable, portable and not a source of completely empty calories.

The cons:  Easy to eat a few of these in a sitting. If you buy the strawberry flavor, the packaging of the individual bars looks almost identical to these.

The verdict:  For $1.99 these are cereal bars that will remind you of a Nutrigrain bar with apple pie filling. Two readers, Julie and Amy both commented on how good the apple ones were. If two people in the same day comment that you should try a product then there must be something special about it. Amy even added that they are even good microwaved. Yes, I microwaved it, it was good, just keep it to 10 seconds in the microwave. Any longer and you'll have a hot cereal bar and a molten burn your mouth for a week filling. These have the same similar outside that isn't very cereal like. The filling here is a nicely flavored apple that actually has a couple different fruits mixed in: pear, pineapple, and pear. The predominant flavor is still apple and you'll also get the pleasant flavor of cinnamon as well. Looking at the nutritional values, it's better than a candy bar. This is a solid flavor choice in Trader Joe's Walks into a Bar series. Other solid choices include blueberry and strawberry as well.

Would I buy this again? Yes. I have a tendency to eat one flavor to the point I'm sick of it. Trader Joe's This Apple Walks Into a Bar is another good choice to mix things up.
