Whether it's a family get together or watching the game there are certain items that are almost universally loved. Pigs in a blanket is one of the perfect party foods which most people reach for. Stew Leonard's Pigs in a Blanket is a perfect choice if you don't want the hassle of making them for yourself.

The pros:  Easy, ready in about 5 minutes, tasty, lots of flaky layers

The cons:  Slightly messier to eat than pigs in a blanket made from crescent rolls.

The verdict:  For $9.99 per box they are a bit pricey, but you'll have to think about what you are getting here. These are not wrapped in crescent rolls out of a can. These are closer to tasting like croissant dough with all the flakey layers. They are par baked which means they're almost done. Give them 5 minutes in the oven and you'll get warm pigs in a blanket without the threat of burning them. They crisp up just enough to enjoy the flaky layers. Just be warned you'll want a plate to catch the occasional layer that might drop off. The mini hot dogs used here are Boars Head so you are getting quality. They were salty, meaty and the pastry was light and flaky.
