Trader Joe’s has no shortage of frozen flatbreads and pizzas, but the Burrata, Prosciutto & Arugula Flatbread been a repeat purchase in my household. With toppings that sound straight from a trendy café, this frozen flatbread combines burrata cheese, salty prosciutto, and peppery arugula—all for under $6.
It comes frozen and bakes in about 10 minutes, making it a tempting option for a quick weeknight meal, fancy lunch, or shareable appetizer. But does it live up to the expectations its upscale ingredients create?

Review
I’ll start by saying this flatbread looks beautiful coming out of the oven. The crust crisps up nicely, the melted cheese has a satisfying pull, and the prosciutto gets just enough crisp around the edges. It feels like something you could serve at a casual gathering with wine or as an upgraded solo dinner.
That said, there are a few things to know before tossing this in your cart. First, the burrata. While it sounds luxurious, it’s not quite the creamy, oozing center you get from fresh burrata. Instead, it’s more like pockets of mild, melty mozzarella-style cheese. Still tasty, just not quite what burrata lovers might expect.
The prosciutto is flavorful and salty, and it crisps up nicely during baking. I liked that it wasn’t overly greasy and didn’t overwhelm the rest of the flatbread. The arugula comes separately in a little pouch that you add after baking. It’s a nice touch and brings some brightness, but it’s also a bit sparse. I ended up adding a handful of my own fresh arugula for more balance and bite.
The crust is thin but not too thin, crisp, and holds up well. It has that rustic, almost wood-fired vibe and isn’t overly doughy. I appreciated that it didn’t get soggy beneath the cheese and meat.
All in all, I thought it was a solid frozen flatbread with a slightly elevated flavor profile. It’s not restaurant-level, but for something that bakes in 10 minutes from frozen, it punches above its weight.
Nutritional facts
Below are the nutritional facts. Keep in mind, Trader Joe's considers this to be 3 servings. Realistically this is 2 servings if not one. In total this is 870 calories so plan accordingly and see below for pairing suggestions.

Ingredients
Key ingredients include:
- Burrata-style cheese
- Mozzarella cheese
- Prosciutto
- Arugula
- Oil
- Fladbread
Contains milk and wheat. Not gluten-free or vegetarian.

Cooking Instructions:
Oven Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Remove flatbread from packaging (leave arugula aside).
- Place flatbread directly on center rack or a baking sheet.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is crisp.
- Remove from oven and top with prosciutto.
- Slice and serve.
Optional: Drizzle with balsamic glaze or a touch of olive oil to elevate.
Air Fryer Instructions:
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F for a few minutes.
- Place the Flatbread in the Basket: Carefully place the flatbread into the air fryer basket, ensuring it lays flat and doesn’t fold or bend.
- Cook: Air fry for 6-8 minutes, checking for a golden-brown crust and bubbling cheese. Keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn't overcook or burn, as air fryers cook faster than traditional ovens.
- Add the Prosciutto: Once the flatbread is cooked, remove it from the air fryer and add the pieces of the Prosciutto on top.
Cooking the flatbread in an air fryer can give you a crispier crust in less time compared to a conventional oven. It’s a great option if you’re looking for a faster way to enjoy this delicious flatbread.
If you have a smaller air fryer or it doesn't fit, slice it in half to ensure even cooking.

It’s about 11 inches long, enough for 1–2 people depending on appetite.

Pairing Suggestions
To create a full meal experience with Trader Joe’s Burrata, Prosciutto, and Arugula Flatbread, consider these pairing suggestions:
- Salads:
A simple salad of mixed greens with balsamic vinaigrette or a lemony arugula salad would complement the richness of the flatbread while adding freshness and acidity to the meal. - Wine:
Pair this flatbread with a light, crisp white wine like a Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc. If you prefer red, a light-bodied Pinot Noir would work well with the salty prosciutto and creamy burrata. - Appetizers:
Start your meal with light antipasto options such as marinated olives, artichoke hearts, or a Caprese salad to stay in line with the Italian-inspired theme of the flatbread. - Dessert:
Finish your meal with something light and refreshing, such as a bowl of fresh berries with whipped cream or a scoop of lemon sorbet to cleanse the palate.

No, this flatbread is made with wheat-based dough and is not gluten-free. However, Trader Joe's offers other gluten-free pizza options if needed.
Absolutely! You can customize this flatbread with additional toppings like fresh cherry tomatoes, shaved Parmesan, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze to enhance the flavor and make it more filling.

Final Thoughts
Trader Joe’s Burrata, Prosciutto & Arugula Flatbread is one of those freezer finds that makes you feel like you’re eating something a little fancier without the price tag or prep. While it’s not a perfect recreation of what you’d find at a wood-fired pizzeria, it checks a lot of boxes for flavor, texture, and convenience. Add a bit more arugula, maybe a drizzle of balsamic, and you’ve got a solid weeknight meal or crowd-pleasing appetizer that feels elevated without the effort.

Pros
- Gourmet Feel: The combination of burrata, prosciutto, and arugula gives this flatbread an elevated, restaurant-quality feel without the effort.
- Convenient: Ready to bake in just minutes, making it a perfect quick meal or appetizer for guests.
- Flavorful: The contrast of creamy burrata, salty prosciutto, and peppery arugula provides a satisfying and balanced flavor profile.
Cons
- Portion Size: The flatbread is relatively small, making it better suited as an appetizer or light meal for one person rather than a full meal for two.
- Mild Flavor: Some may find the flatbread under-seasoned, so additional seasoning or toppings like black pepper or olive oil can help enhance the flavor.

I just tried this for the first time last night & I have to say, I'm not crazy about the flavor of the arugula, it's unpleasantly bitter & not moderated by the mildness of the cheese blend or the prosciutto, which I didn't find all that salty. Also I recommend running the pizza cutter over it before you put the prosciutto on to finish it. I put it on before I ran the pizza cutter over it up on the cutting board, & the pizza cutter ended up picking up the shredded pieces of prosciutto, jamming it in the process, & undoing the work I had in laying it out on top. Not a bad pizza, just not for me with that arugula flavor, so I probably won't be buying this one again.

I tried it for the first time last week and cooked the prosciutto on the pizza. It was delicious!
I know it’s not recommended to do this however, it was worth it.
