The pros: Trader Joe’s Tarte d’Alsace with Ham, Onions, and Gruyere will remind you of a croque monsieur with a pie crust instead of toasted bread. If you are saying “what the hell is croque monsieur?” It’s a ham and cheese sandwich. The caramelized onions were a nice touch. It might also remind you of a Hawaiian pizza minus the pineapple.
The cons: I wished there were no calories in this. Sorry, hard to come up with one. I really enjoyed this.
The verdict: I’ve tried three different flavors of the tarts in the freezer section. I enjoyed this Tarte d’Alsace more than the Trader Joe’s Tarte au Brie etaux Tomatoes and Trader Joe’s Harvest Gorgonzola Tarte. The Trader Joe’s Tarte aux Champignons Review was a close second it just depends if you would like the flavor of onions, ham and cheese as in this tart as opposed to mushrooms and cheese. None of them were bad, but my husband and I enjoyed this one the most. They are all worth a try. This one will set you back $4.49.

I would absolutely buy this again. It was a nice break from a true pizza. The tart crust was lovely straight out of the toaster oven. If you enjoy a good ham and cheese but want a break from all the bread, this is a great choice.

This looks delicious. I cannot wait to try it out with a nice white wine. You might even see it on the blog soon! Thanks for the review, Betty!

This Tarte d’Alsace is true GARBAGE!!!
Not even remotely close to the real deal … very disappointing for someone born and raised in Alsace…
Hey Patrick! I have never been to Alsace or had a tarte from France. What did was wrong with it as someone who clearly knows the real deal?
I’m curious what was wrong with it too, cause I LOVE IT!! My favorite!!❤️
