Trader Joe's Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

Trader Joe's Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

So I may have had Thanksgiving early in my household. So they'll be a lot of reviews of items that are worthwhile to serve in the coming days. The holidays can be very stressful because of all the preparation that needs to be done in advance. I cheated this year. Everything came from Trader Joe's. So I got everything I needed out of the freezer an hour before company came. I cut out all the cook times from the boxes and placed them next to each item that was about the head into the oven so everything could be ready all at the same time. One of the appetizers that came out of the freezer was Trader Joe's Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms.

The pros:  Easy appetizer that won't kill you in calories. Cheesy, spinachy filling that wasn't overdone with bread crumbs.

The cons:  Takes a bit longer than most appetizers in the oven. Mine took 30 minutes. These should be served straight out of the oven. Mine cooled down pretty quick.

The verdict:  ...

Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre Review: A Holiday Goat Cheese Worth Grabbing?

An unopened package of Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre

Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre is one of those products that shows up around the holidays and instantly dresses up a cheeseboard. If you're a fan of tangy goat cheese and tart cranberries, then this sweet-savory combo might be your kind of snack-or it might not.

Sold in a small log, typically found in the cheese section for around $4.99, this soft goat cheese is rolled in dried cranberries and meant to be served chilled, sliced, or spread. So is it worth grabbing while it's in season?

Review

Goat cheese can be a bit divisive. Some people love its tangy, creamy texture, while others find it too funky. I fall firmly into the "goat cheese fan" camp, especially when it's paired with something sweet. So I was hopeful about this combo-and for the most part, Trader Joe's delivers.

Out of the package, this cheese is visually festive. The cranberry coating is generous and gives it a pretty pop of color that looks great on a cheeseboard. It's easy to slice, and while it's not the creamiest goat cheese I've ever had, it softens quickly at room temperature and becomes easy to spread on crackers or bread.

Flavor-wise, it's definitely tangy and bold, as you'd expect from chevre, but the cranberries help balance that acidity with just enough sweetness. That said, the balance isn't perfect. I found that the first few bites were tasty, but the flavor started to feel a little repetitive. It's best enjoyed in small portions or with some contrasting textures-like nuts, crackers, or even a drizzle of honey.

If you're hosting a party or putting together a holiday spread, this cheese works as a seasonal addition. Just don't expect to eat the whole thing in one sitting; it's rich, tangy, and very much a supporting character, not the star of the show.

Ingredients

The main ingredients in Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre include:

  • Pasteurized goat's milk
  • Dried cranberries (cranberries, sugar, sunflower oil)
  • Salt
  • Enzymes

It contains milk and is vegetarian-friendly but not vegan or dairy-free.

How to Use It

  • Slice and serve on crackers with a drizzle of honey or fig jam
  • Add to a holiday cheeseboard with nuts, apples, and olives
  • Crumble over roasted squash or salad for a tangy contrast
  • Stuff into dates or figs for an easy appetizer
  • Spread on toast with arugula or smoked turkey for a sweet-savory twist

FAQs about Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre

The following are commonly asked questions about this product:

Is Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre sweet or savory?

It's mostly savory, thanks to the tangy goat cheese, with a touch of sweetness from the dried cranberries.

Is it easy to spread?

Yes, especially if you let it sit out for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.

Is this available year-round?

No, it's typically a seasonal item released in the fall and winter months.

Can you freeze it?

You can freeze it, but the texture may become more crumbly once thawed.

How should it be stored?

Keep it refrigerated and tightly wrapped after opening. It's best enjoyed within a few days once sliced.

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe's Cranberry Chevre is one of those seasonal finds that feels like it belongs at every holiday gathering. It's creamy, tangy, and just sweet enough to keep things interesting especially when paired with crunchy crackers or a drizzle of honey. It's not a crowd-pleaser for everyone (goat cheese never is), but for those who enjoy its bold flavor, this is a solid pick for festive snacking.

If you see it in stores, grab a log or two for your next party or to add a little holiday spirit to your snacking routine. Just don't forget to let it come to room temp before serving-it makes all the difference.

Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles

Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles

The pros: Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles are $1.99 and found in the freezer section. The blueberries are very subtle in flavor. They do crisp up when you follow the directions.

The cons: I was hoping for visual pieces of blueberry. There were none. They were a touch different from regular waffles in terms of color. No microwave allowed on Trader Joe's Blueberry Waffles. This item appears to be seasonal.

Trader Joe's Hot and Spicy Chicken Wings Sections Review: Are They Worth the Heat?

Trader Joe's Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings Sections

Trader Joe's has a freezer full of quick, meaty options, and if you're a wing fan, you've probably spotted the Hot & Spicy Chicken Wing Sections. Sold frozen and already fully cooked, they're coated in a chili-spiced rub and promise a spicy, restaurant-style wing experience straight from your oven or air fryer.

At $6.99 for a one-pound bag, these wings offer a quick and easy way to satisfy a craving but with a few caveats.

Trader Joe's Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings Sections

Review

The flavor definitely lives up to the name. These wings are medium, with a chili-forward spice blend that builds as you eat. They're not saucy like Buffalo wings, but instead use a dry rub that clings to the crispy skin once baked. If you're someone who likes spice and doesn't mind licking your fingers, you might really enjoy these.

However, there are a few drawbacks. The portion felt a little small. For $6.99, you get a one-pound bag, but not all of that is meat-some of it is bone, skin, and smaller pieces. In my experience, I ended up with a few that were more bone than anything else. I also found they took longer to cook than the instructions suggest, especially to get the skin really crisp. And while the spice level was enjoyable, the wings were meaty, I had to hope no one asked to share.

A one-pound bag of these is good for one or two people, but if you are planning on hosting a Super Bowl party, you would probably need a case of these. Or you might be better off reaching for the frozen wings that need to be cooked so you can adjust the spice level up or down.n

Product Ingredients

Here are some of the key ingredients:

  • Chicken wing sections (fully cooked)
  • Salt
  • Spices (including chili powder, cayenne, and paprika)
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Natural smoke flavor
  • Vinegar powder

These wings contain no artificial preservatives, and the spice blend is made from recognizable pantry ingredients.

FAQs about Trader Joe's Chicken Wing Sections

The following are commonly asked questions about this product:

Are these wings boneless?

No, these are traditional bone-in wing sections.

Are they fully cooked?

Yes, they come fully cooked and only need to be reheated.

How spicy are they?

They're definitely spicy, with a dry rub that builds heat. If you're spice-sensitive, you may want to pair them with something creamy to cool it down.

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe's Hot & Spicy Chicken Wings are convenient and bring the heat, but they fell a little short for me. While the dry rub flavor is bold and satisfying, the slightly fishy taste and smaller portion size left me wanting more. The texture can be good if you're patient with baking or air frying, but the inconsistent piece sizes and longer-than-stated cook time can be frustrating.

If you're a die-hard spicy wing fan looking for a quick fix, they might be worth trying. Overall, not bad, but won't put your local bar or wing joint out of business any time soon.

Trader Joe's Arancini Bites

Trader Joe's Arancini Bites

The pros:  Trader Joe's Arancini Bites are ooey and gooey cheesy rice balls that have a molten chunk of cheese waiting for you if cooked correctly. Ready in under 15 minutes. This is one of my go to items if I need a quick side, appetizer or I'm just too lazy to make dinner.

The cons:   No microwave allowed on this one.

The verdict:

Trader Joe's Arancini Bites are one of the staples in my freezer. For $3.49 I can't imagine going through the aggravation of making these yourself. Regular sized rice balls have beef and peas in them, but since these are miniature those items were omitted due to size.

Here is the visual rundown of what you can expect if you purchase this item. My final thoughts of this product are below the pictures.

This is a perennial favorite in my household. It doesn't makes sense to even attempt to make these. There is plenty of cheese squeezed into the middle. The cheese is super stringy and melty if cooked for the appropriate amount of time. There are hints of lemon and pepper than come through in the rice filling. The breading was crisp without being overly greasy. I highly recommend trying these if you haven't already.
