The pros:  Trader Joe's This Cranberry Walks Into A Bar is a seasonal flavor of the successful line of "This (Fruit) Walks Into A Bar..." line.

The cons: This is a seasonal flavor. This is also the only "This [fruit] walks into a bar" that is not labeled OU Kosher.

The verdict:  Here is a line of cereal bars where they are all good, but some flavors are just better than others. These bars are much like Nutrigrain bars. They are portable and reasonably filling. At 140 calories each, they make for a reasonable snack too. Now the flavor of cranberry walks the line. It can go one way or the other. They key is balance between sweet and tart here.

It's a balance that this bar does well. It's not too sweet and not too tart. It's just enough filling to make you not feel like you are eating Thanksgiving left overs for breakfast or a snack. The cereal bar part is exactly the same as it tastes on the Mango, Fig, Apple, Blueberry, Pumpkin, and Strawberry bars. It's your typical cereal bar that reminds me every time as a copycat Nutrigrain Bar. The biggest difference is that this is seasonal.

For $1.99 this is on par with all the other bars, just a flavor that is in line with the winter season. It's worth a try if you like cranberry. For me, I'll enjoy this package once and then hopefully I'll get to try it again next year.

Would I buy this again?  Trader Joe's This Cranberry Walks Into A Bar was good and a nice seasonal break from the other varieties. Like the pumpkin bar, I will enjoy this on a seasonal basis.

Hey Lois! It's a little early for cranberry things. Maybe by the end of October you'll see it.
