Chocolate and peanut butter. Let me count the ways this combination works.

The taste

Have you ever imagined how they come up with new products at Trader Joe's? Here is how I imagined this product came to be:

"Hey...some of my peanut butter cups melted together."

"Oh man"

"Yeah but they taste good. Two together tastes awesome. How can we market this?"

"Well, they look melty and gross as is."

"I know, let's make them peanut-shaped and people will buy them."

Yes, that is how I imagined this product came to be. If you have your own envisioning of how a product came to be feel free to leave that in the comments.

But alas, here is a bag. Albeit a small bag of what are essentially crispy peanut butter cups.

The crispiness is what makes these fun and different. But the bag only contains about a dozen of these little treats. Bummer.

But these still make for a decent peanut butter cup because you have two pockets of sweetened peanut butter filling with a touch of crispness.

The shape makes them that much cuter as they are peanut-shaped...in case you forgot what the package said.

But the weakness in this product is the chocolate. Trader Joe's does do good chocolate, but when it comes to milk chocolate they should up their game. The chocolate was a bit chalkier than I would have liked.

So that being said this product was good but isn't quite as good as the dark chocolate peanut butter cups.

Then again for $2.69 these aren't badly priced either.

And for the sake of honesty, my husband saw these on our counter. He asked me my thoughts on them. I promptly told him they were terrible. He walked away.

If you have no interest in sharing your goodies then follow the tactics in the previous paragraph. Otherwise, you may find yours disappear from sight as well.

The packaging

The only packaging is the exterior packaging you see here. The bag can be resealed.

Overall

Would I buy Trader Joe's Crispy Peanut Butter Filled Milk Chocolate Peanuts again? Yes, I'd consider getting another bag. I don't need it. Trust me. But they would be worthy of a repurchase. But at the same time, if I could only choose one item to recommend to you, I'd still reach for Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups over these.

Did you try it?  Let me know what you think in the comments section!

I wonder if CJ have tried it? It's a cute item to decorate top of cupcakes or cake toppers.
