The pros:  Trader Joe's Spinach Tortellini are ready in literally 2 minutes and they are tasty little tortellini.

The cons:  These are tortellini and are much smaller than Trader Joe's Pesto Tortelloni. Don't expect filling like Trader Joe's Spinach Ricotta Ravioli either. There is just no room

The verdict:  For $2.29 this is the quickest pasta you can me with what looks to be the most generous serving size of anything in the pasta aisle. Don't expect the taste of sautéed spinach like the Ricotta Ravioli because there isn't room in each of these for texture. What you get here in the middle is more like a pesto consisting of spinach powder and parmesan cheese. You'll want some type of topping with this.

Would I buy this again? Yes. They were filling and you feel like you get a lot for the calories per serving. While it's not the best texturally, for the size that these tortellini happen to be, they are tasty. Would go well with butter and parmesan cheese or an alfredo sauce like Trader Joe's Alfredo Sauce.

So when I purchased these, my family had never had tortellini with spinach in it. My kids loved these and I was surprised. I thought they were going to say nope cause of the green color. I tossed them in butter an dparmesean cheese and they all loved them!

Why do the directions warn against microwaving the product? I thought just about any product’s instructions could be modified for safe use of a microwave. I tried boiling a couple pieces and nothing alarming occurred.

Sometimes pasta takes on a weird texture in the microwave. But if you got it to work more power to you. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts on this!
