Trader Joe's Milk and Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Bits Bar

Trader Joe's Milk and Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Bits Bar

Well, there is no shortage of snack options at Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's Milk and Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Bits Bar is added to the line up and I'm not sure it is going to be their most popular bar.

Trader Joe's Milk and Dark Chocolate Butterscotch Bits Bar

Taste and review

Welcome to Trader Joe's answer to a Toblerone Bar. Instead of cute pyramids, you have rectangular teeth that are far too tall to be consumed comfortably.

Seriously. This one could make your gums bleed. You bite it. It will bite you back.

This is one of those products that you wonder who tested it (and approved it). Were they given the whole bar? Or perhaps a neat single square was already chopped off to make sure no one notices this flaw? We will never know.

In either case, you have a pretty unremarkable bar. It is both milk and dark chocolate in a pretty pattern. But beyond the pretty pattern and terrible shape design is what tastes like mostly milk chocolate.

So the last point of what makes this bar different is the butterscotch bits. Bits is also an understatement.

Like they are few and far between. I think I was hoping for way more and only got a tiny mouthfeel for the few butterscotch crunchies in this bar.

So it's got a bad design, truly contains just bits of butterscotch, and is an otherwise unremarkable chocolate bar.

For $1.79 this is worth skipping. There are plenty of great options on the shelf if you need your chocolate fix, but this shouldn't be considered one of them.

Trader Joe’s Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini Review: Bubbly, Sweet, and Ready to Party

Trader Joe's Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini poured into a glass

If you've ever wanted a glass of bubbly that tastes like dessert and goes down way too easily, Trader Joe's Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini might be your new summer sip. This sparkling fruit-forward cocktail is bottled and ready to pour-ideal for brunches, picnics, or just a lazy Sunday afternoon.

At just $5.99, this sparkling wine cocktail offers a budget-friendly alternative to mimosas or bellinis with a berry twist.

Trader Joe's Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini review

[feast_advanced_jump_to]

Review

Let's just start by saying this is not your average sparkling wine-it's sweet, fruity, and more like a fizzy punch than anything you'd sip at a wine tasting. But that's not a bad thing, especially if you know what you're getting into.

The moment you pop the bottle, you're hit with the intensely aromatic scent of ripe strawberries and tart raspberries. It pours a beautiful blush color with light bubbles and a fun, celebratory vibe. Flavor-wise, it's on the sweeter side-like a jammy berry soda with a touch of alcohol in the background.

It's light-bodied, crisp, and slightly tart on the finish, which helps balance the sweetness. At 8% ABV, it's mellow enough to enjoy more than one glass without going overboard.

I wouldn't call this a refined drink, but it's exactly what I want when I'm looking for something fun and easy, whether I'm lounging outside or hosting a casual get-together. Serve it ice-cold and you've got an instant party starter.

If you're into cocktails, you could also use this as a mixer with vodka or gin, or add some frozen berries to fancy it up. Just don't expect complexity. This is all about simple pleasure.

Opening this

This bottle had me a bit confused. It unwrapped like a champagne bottle. The plastic cap was even shaped like it had that familiar metal mesh. But it was all plastic.

All you need to do to open this is a twist. I hope by writing this saves someone some time and aggravation. Unlike a typical bottle of bubbly, there is no cork.

It's a screw top with a plastic cover. Perhaps it's there to make sure that if you place this bottle on its side to chill, it won't leak.

How to Serve

  • Mix into spritzers or summer punch with club soda and mint
  • Chill thoroughly before serving
  • Serve in a champagne flute or stemless glass
  • Add frozen berries for a fun garnish
  • Pair with brunch, fruit tarts, or creamy cheeses

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe's Secco Strawberry and Raspberry Rossini is a perfect example of a "know what you're getting" product. It's not trying to compete with high-end prosecco or showcase subtle flavor layers: it's here to be sweet, fizzy fun.

And it absolutely delivers on that. If you enjoy berry-forward drinks and want something low-effort to pop open for brunch, date night, or a sunny afternoon, this one's worth chilling and sharing.

Trader Joe's Organic Sriracha Ranch Dressing

Trader Joe's Organic Sriracha Ranch Dressing bottle

Trader Joe's has some awesome dressings. But I don't think I can count this among them.

Trader Joe's Organic Sriracha Ranch Dressing bottle

Taste and review

Here is a product that says dressing but begs to be used for anything but salad. In this bottle is a really good sauce with a kick.

I love sriracha, but I prefer my sriracha sauce, not from Trader Joe's. I like Huy Fong's in all of its fiery peppery glory.

Out of the bottle, this looks like Thousand Island dressing minus the pickles. However, if you think those two taste anything like you are in for a rude awakening.

This bottle is way more sriracha than ranch-tasting. In fact, a closer look at the ingredient list shows it should taste more like ranch.

An even closer look at the ingredients also reveals that this actually doesn't have many ingredients in common with Trader Joe's Sriracha Sauce. The heat here is coming almost all from the cayenne pepper.

And this sauce has some kick. This is more medium in heat. It has a nice flavor.

But on a salad, not so much but I'll chalk that up to personal preference. So what have I been using this on? To dip artichoke hearts or even on burgers. Anywhere where a nice kick would be appreciated or something that can be dipped.

Overall

For $2.99 it is a reasonably priced item that could be made at home. Yup, ranch dressing and sriracha to taste and you'll get something close to this. But at least you can control the heat.

Would I buy this again? Yes, Trader Joe's Organic Sriracha Ranch Dressing was good. I liked this better as a dip.

Trader Joe's Neapolitan Joe Joe's

An unopened box of Trader Joe's Neapolitan Joe Joe's box

We are now pretty much in the middle of summer. If you are on the coasts of the U.S. it seems to have been a particularly hot one. At least that is what my electricity bill tells me. So when in doubt reach for ice cream, right? Well, if Neapolitan is what you would normally reach for then you can get similar flavors in a cookie.

Trader Joe's Neapolitan Joe Joe's review

But today's review is about a flavor pairing that is most commonly found in ice cream. But Trader Joe's likes to be anything but basic, so why put this as a flavor of ice cream when you can make the pairing into a cookie.

Taste

Here you have two basic cookie shells: the classic Joe Joe's, which are their answer to Oreos, and the Vanilla Joe Joe's. What is completely different about this one is the filling.

Strawberries can go one of two ways: it can be very artificial tasting or it can be quite pleasant.

Trader Joe's made up a third way: interesting.

Now, I don't use the word interesting lightly. I use it when I'm not sure what to make of it good or bad.

This probably sounds strange, but let me explain. There was something about the filling that was a touch weird. I opened these up, in the same way, I would an Oreo. These seemed well-filled like double stuff.

I go after the filling in the same way that my mom's dog would go after a jar of peanut butter.

I came across a product I'm pretty familiar with: tiny chunks of freeze-dried strawberries. If you've never had them, then allow me to explain.

They have the texture of a rice cake. They taste like concentrated strawberries. I keep them in the house for baking and oatmeal. Both of those applications require some level of hydration to bring them back to their former selves (and tasteless like astronaut food).

So for some, this is going to be an off-putting element. The bits of freeze-dried fruit did not seem to rehydrate in any way and lent an unusual element to the texture here.

Overall

However, if you love the classic pairing of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry these are at least worth a try, but not a must-buy. But be warned, if you like to twist these to see which side the creme lands on, it seems to stick to the chocolate side more.

For $2.99 these are priced in line with the rest of Trader Joe's Joe Joe's cookies.

Trader Joe’s Turkey Meatballs Review: Quick, Versatile, and Perfect for Busy Nights

Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs unopened on a green surface.

Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs are a freezer staple for anyone looking for a quick, protein-packed addition to their meals. Made with seasoned ground turkey, these meatballs are fully cooked and ready to heat in minutes. They're versatile enough to pair with pasta, salads, or soups and are perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep.

At $4.99 per bag, Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs are an affordable and convenient option for adding lean protein to your dishes without sacrificing flavor.

Review of Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs

Taste and Texture

Trader Joe's Turkey Meatballs are surprisingly flavorful for a frozen option. The seasoning is well-balanced, with hints of garlic, onion, and herbs that complement a variety of dishes. The meatballs are tender but firm enough to hold their shape during cooking, and they don't feel overly processed or rubbery.

While turkey can sometimes be dry, these meatballs retain a good amount of moisture, especially when heated properly. I found them satisfying both on their own and as part of a meal, though they benefit from pairing with a sauce or seasoning for added depth.

Convenience and Value

These meatballs are incredibly convenient-just heat and serve. They're fully cooked, so you can prepare them in a variety of ways, including microwave, stovetop, or oven. The portion size is generous, making the $4.99 price tag a solid value for the amount and quality you get.

Overall

If you are looking to cut back on red meat, then this is a solid option without tasting too dry. Otherwise, I did prefer the more traditional taste of the other meatball options, but this was a solid go-to from time to time.
