Trader Joe's Pumpkin Waffles

An unopened box of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Waffles

The pros: Trader Joe's Pumpkin Waffles are easy freezer waffles, some pumpkin present, but the taste of pumpkin will not overwhelm you. More pumpkin spice to this waffle than actual pumpkin. For $1.99 for the box, it was a good deal.

The cons:  If you like completely plain waffles, then stick to them.

The verdict:  I'd buy this again as a nice change to regular waffles. These had a touch of spice and were not overwhelming on the pumpkin flavor. If you want the strongest flavor of pumpkin in a breakfast item, you should reach for Trader Joe's Pumpkin Rolls and don't forget about the icing. Unfortunately, this is a seasonal variety and will not be in the freezer section forever. So if you enjoy these it is best to stock up.

Here is the visual rundown of what you get when you buy this product:

After polishing off 2 waffles, I can't wait to eat the rest of them in the box. For 180 calories for two, it wasn't an unreasonable breakfast either. I enjoyed them, I think you might too.

Trader Joe's Salmon and Vegetable Croquettes

Trader Joe's Salmon and Vegetable CroquettesTrader Joe's Salmon and Vegetable Croquettes

Why have food when you can have "superfoods?" Yes, Trader Joe's Salmon and Vegetable Croquettes have all the buzzwords for super foods: Salmon, edamame, chia seeds, kale and broccoli. But...

The Pros:  Tasty, healthy option with lots of "superfoods." Expect even ratio of salmon to veggies.

The Cons: Only 4 come in a package. If you are expecting it to be salmon heavy you are wrong. Small croquettes, I polished off all 4 in a sitting. Sorry not sorry.

Trader Joe's Black Bean and Corn Enchilada

Trader Joes Black Bean and Corn Enchilada

Mexican is not Taco Bell. Real Mexican food is an experience. It matches every texture together in some form of perfection. I adore Mexican food. I love a good enchilada. Unfortunately, Trader Joe's Black Bean and Corn Enchilada was just alright. There are better ones.

The Pros:  Trader Joe's Black Bean and Corn Enchilada  has a sauce that had a nice smokey flavor it it.

The Cons:  I expected there to be more cheese with this. The texture and filling was just ok.

Trader Joe's Spiced Cider Review: Sip, Sip, Hooray!

Trader Joe's Spiced Cider

When the weather cools, I want something that feels like wearing a warm hug-and Trader Joe's Spiced Cider delivers. Bottled nostalgia, brewed with fragrant spices and apple juice, this is the kind of drink that makes your blanket feel cozier and your kitchen smell like fall.

Review

Trader Joe's Spiced Cider comes in a 64-ounce bottle of unfiltered apple juice brewed with cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and peels of orange and lemon. No artificial colors or flavors, just real pressed apples and seasonal spice blend.

Pouring this into my mug for the first time, I swear my kitchen transformed into a full-on fall candle ad-warm apple-y sweetness, a whisper of cinnamon, and a hit of that clove spice that says, "Hey, I'm here for the cozy times." If you're the type who lives for sweater weather, this cider's got your name written all over it.

Cold, it's a decent sweet sip like a fancy juice box for grown-ups. But heat it, and boom: it's like autumn itself is hugging you. That swirl of cinnamon and clove rises with the steam, and every sip feels like you're doing something good for your soul. (Plus, it makes your whole house smell like a holiday party. Bonus points there.)

Taste-wise, it's on the sweeter side-like sweet enough to drink alone, but not so sweet you feel like you're chugging syrup. There's a bright pop from the citrus peels that keeps things interesting, and a hint of allspice that gives it a little grown-up complexity. Don't expect that deep, mulled cider punch-this is more mellow, like the laid-back cousin at the family reunion who's always down to chill.

Personally, I love that it's not overly spiced. It lets you play with it: add a cinnamon stick, a splash of bourbon, or a squeeze of lemon if you want to jazz it up. One night, I even added it to pancake batter. (Pro tip: that was a good decision.)

Downside? It's seasonal, so it disappears faster than you can say "pumpkin spice." Grab an extra bottle or two if you're the type who likes to sip through the season. And if you're a die-hard mulled cider fan, you might want to sprinkle in some extra spices to get that full festive punch.

Final Thoughts

Trader Joe's Spiced Cider is that simple seasonal pleasure you didn't know you needed. It smells like fall, tastes like comfort, and feels like an easy, no-fuss upgrade to your cozy evenings. (Bonus points for how it transforms into a holiday drink with just a splash of spirit.) It's not a blockbuster mulled cider, but it's a smooth, charming companion for sweater weather. Fill your mug and your soul. If you are more of a purist, then look for Trader Joe's Honeycrisp Apple Cider which is pure apple goodness.
